  • Here at MUSE, we believe it is important to be clear about some of our fundamental beliefs.

    1. Hate and bullying behavior will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form in our physical and online spaces.
    2. We support the LGBTQIA+ community in its entirety.
    3. We believe that Black Lives Matter.

MUSE is actively engaged in the promotion of equity, inclusion and safe spaces for all, and donates to organizations that support these ideas.

  • Well hello there, Fiber Friends! You can contact MUSE through the website, email, or phone at any time. Please remember that we are a small business, and most messages are answered by Sara directly! We know you want answers as soon as possible, and do our best to answer your questions in a timely manner.

Our brick & mortar phone number is a message service - even during business hours! Your fastest course of communication will be emailing directly to muse2320fiber@gmail.com.

  • Hand dyed yarn requires a wee bit of special care! Here is a basic list of suggestions when you are ready to block or wash your finished garment:

    1. Use cold water and your favorite mild detergent - we really love Soak here at MUSE!

    2. Gently place your item into water without major agitation. Do not leave in water for any longer than 20 minutes.

    3. Remove and carefully squeeze out excess water. Rolling in a towel can be helpful when extracting water.

    4. Lay out flat to dry on towels or blocking mats, and shape and pin as desired.

High contrast color combinations can be precarious! MUSE suggests you use color catchers when washing any colorwork project, or finished object made with highly variegated colorways. Rest assured this is a normal occurrence with hand-dyed yarns!

We highly suggest special care for all of your hand-dyed yarn and fiber from MUSE - regardless of it being Superwash or Non-Superwash.

  • We hand select our yarn bases for their quality, and for the job they will do! You will find a variety of superwash and non-superwash bases in the MUSE collection, and offer a number of weights that can be used singularly or run together to create beautiful fabrics.

Our yarn is sourced and produced all over the world as fiber can be grown in one corner of the universe, and sent to another for processing! We source our yarn and fiber from businesses that are mulesing-free.

We also work very closely with our local fiber community, and collaborate with farms and mills right here in Minnesota! Get Bentz Farm’s fiber and goods can be found in our brick & mortar!

  • MUSE2320 Fiber Co. is a small batch, artisanal dye studio. We pride ourselves on creating colorways that are unique and hand crafted.

Every hank of hand dyed yarn will have variations from the next - even when they are dyed in the same pan. Because of this, we suggest altering rows on larger projects, and ordering enough yarn for your project.

The batch number on your hank of yarn help us track where you purchased, and in what timeline. We will do our best to help you find a match, but cannot guarantee we will have that colorway in the dye pans again.

So lean into that extra hank if you are worried… and send us an email if you have questions - we are happy to help!

  • The wool industry is vast, and made up of many moving pieces that move your wool from sheep to sweater. I am a firm believer that there is a time and place for both superwash and non-superwash wools, and we here at MUSE, are here to support you as you choose the fiber that is a good fit for the project you have in mind!

We source our yarn and fiber from companies that have high environmental standards, and are transparent about their processes.

A word from one of our distributors Wool2Dye4:

“Yes, there is additional processing for superwash wool compared to non-superwash, but then again, there are longevity advantages to using it VS non-superwash, and we believe that accessibility issues are also very important, not everyone has the ability or resources to hand wash every item of clothing. I’d much prefer people to use super wash wools and get a life time out of a sweater, than either choose to not knit one in the first place because its a faff to care for it, or use a synthetic fibre that will not break down for hundreds of years and cause pollution. Wool after all is a natural resource and takes a great deal of effort to grow and create.”

You can read the full article they reference HERE

SUPERWASH WOOL is most often treated with a Hercosett process which in a nut shell - smooths the outer layer or cuticle of the fiber. This process is used to alleviate concerns regarding felting, shrinking, and washing.

NON-SUPERWASH WOOL is closest to its natural form, retaining its scales, elasticity, and breed specific characteristics. Extra care during washing is necessary to keep your garments from felting and/or shrinking.

  • MUSE has a 30 day return policy on yarn that is in its original form and/or hank. We do not accept returns on wound yarn.

We do not accept returns on special orders.

We do not accept returns on books or decks, needles, hooks, notions, or tea.

We are happy to hold your pick up order for 2 weeks - please contact us as soon as possible if there will be a delay on your pick up. We will refund your order after two weeks if your order is not claimed.

  • MUSE currently uses USPS for all shipping within the US. While we strive to offer a flat rate shipping for all customer orders, rates may fluctuate due to pricing shifts and changes.

We currently charge $6 per order + $1 per item.

You will receive email notification with tracking information as we are processing your order. It may take a couple of days to hit the post as we are prepping many orders at once! This is especially true with special orders and subscriptions.

‍Once your order leaves MUSE, we have relinquished control to the delivery gods!

    • If something goes amiss during the process of delivery, please reach out as soon as possible! We know that things can happen in transit, and will do our best to make it right.

    • Once (and if) your package is marked delivered through the mail provider, responsibility falls to the recipient. We are unfortunately no longer able to offer a refund or replacement on your order.

  • We are happy to combine shipping on orders placed online. Please contact us as soon as possible with your order numbers, and we will refund any overages.

  • Did you make a mistake when entering your address? It happens - and we can help! Please contact us at muse2320fiber@gmail.com if you need to alter the address on an order. USPS will generally catch address issues during shipping… but not always! Please double check your shipping information closely when placing your order, we are not able to make adjustments once your order has hit the post!

  • MUSE offers a variety of special orders throughout the year, and we are happy to accommodate requests when we are able!

Pre-orders are also available several times a year, and turnaround time will be in the listing. This is an estimate - we will be sure to reach out if there are any major delays.

Turnaround time can vary depending on a number of variables - reach out to us at muse2320fiber@gmail.com‍ ‍with your special order questions!

  • Shipping turnaround: if all items are in stock and ready to ship, your order will hit the post within 5 days. The MUSE brick & mortar is currently open Wednesday through Sunday, and packing and shipping happens in house!

Subscription turnaround: Our current subscription “The Haunting” posts at the very end of every month. You will receive a shipping notification when your label is created, and tracking will register as soon as your package is scanned at USPS.

Special order turnaround: We try to get special orders through the dye pans as fast as possible! That being said… sometimes it takes a wee bit longer. Generally speaking, all special orders will ship or be ready for pick up in 4 to 6 weeks. We will communicate with you if there are any delays.

  • You can find the MUSE crew in our brick & mortar every Thursday night from 5-8pm, and every Sunday from 12-4pm for our social groups! These gatherings are FREE and open to the public, and there is no need for registration. We do not have any restrictions on what creative project you can work on during our social gatherings, and our only requirement is that you are kind and respectful to all people that gather in our space.

MUSE does not currently offer regular classes in our brick & mortar location… BUT - we do have some great suggestions for you! We are lucky to have so many amazing yarn shops in the Twin Cities! We highly suggest you check out the following shops and what they have to offer for education:

    Darn Knit Anyway

    Amazing Threads

  • MUSE currently offers a limited number of wholesale accounts! If you are interested in carrying MUSE hand dyed yarn in your brick and mortar, please email us at muse2320fiber@gmail.com with WHOLESALE INQUIRY in the subject line.
